My husband and I came to Hawaii for our honeymoon, and for our special dinner, my husband surprised me with going to Hy's. It was the GREATEST experience I've ever had! Not only is the food absolutely delicious, the service was phenomenal and ambiance of the entire restaurant was so romantic! If there's a steakhouse that you're looking for, please come to Hy's, it was literally THE BEST! Our waiters were Darren, Mana, and Jason, they were so personable and attentive. This was, by far, the best honeymoon dinner anyone could ask for. Thank you Hy's for making such a memorable moment for my husband and I ❤️
From being greeted immediately at the door with a “Happy Birthday” to the attentiveness throughout the entire night, this was an UNFORGETTABLE first experience. I am all about the attention to detail. Never having to ask for more water, having the napkins folded when we get up from the table, the frequent check-in to see if there’s anything we need, the cutting of the steak table side, the bananas foster flambé table side, the muy mui cocktail and the Smokey old fashioned was PHENOMENAL! Anakin, our server, made this whole experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend requesting Anakin if you want a 5 star experience! It wasn’t just a dinner, it’s an experience!
As many others have stated, the A5 Wagyu is incredible. So buttery, juicy, soft, and tasty. Cooked to perfection. The filet mignon was tasty as well, just a step below the A5. The service was top notch and you can tell they pride themselves in providing the best service for their guests. Special shoutout to Romnick and Mana who were our servers and provided excellent service. The table side preparations of the salad and dessert that we received were incredible and the food tasted amazing. The Caesar salad was so good and it was interesting and a unique experience to watch them prepare it right in front of you. Same for the flambés dessert, apple streusel was amazing. Complementary valet service was also a nice touch. 10/10.
What a wonderful restaurant to have memorable nights with your loved ones. Their A5 Wagyu was spectacular and cooked to perfected medium rare. This steak at a great price and our experience was further elevated by their foie gras complementing the steak. Other items pictured include rack of lamb, lobster, crab legs, crab cakes, foie gras (two different preparations from two different nights), bread. The Caesar salad was prepared right in front of us adding to the experience. Our server was Vincent and he took very good care of us. Will be coming back next month for sure.
It has been a long time since we have visîted a Hy's and close to 50 years since Hy's of Honolulu. Hy Aininset would be proud his vision continues.
On short notice we decided we wanted a great steak and a special dining experience. We got both.
Nothing about our experience was other than exceptional. Our service team, led by Jason Tran was attentive without being in the way. The Sommelier was there through our meal to guide and explain our choices - we enjoyed and learned about wines we had no experience with.
It did not start as a Special occasion or event for us, but turned into one. We ordered from their "Legacy Menu" and it spoke to that.
