10/10 recommend lessons with James! We were a group of 3 and booked a 3-day lesson. Was able to ride 7-8 waves successfully by the end, all thanks to James. He’s patient, possess technical acumen about the waves and gives the right feedback needed to set you up for success!

I booked a 1-on-1 surfing lesson and it was an amazing experience! My instructor, Landon, was fantastic. His instructions were clear and he made me feel comfortable and confident in the water. I was able to catch a few waves, and the drone package was definitely worth it. The footage is incredible and something I’ll cherish forever. I highly recommend booking with Kahu Surfing School. Jamison was so patient and kind with my son. We are so impressed with the genuine kindness that the Kahu Surf school provided us on my son’s 10th birthday adventure. He had such an awesome time and he literally rode 20 waves. I would highly recommend for any parents that are looking for an awesome patient surf instructor. Thanks guys for the memories. This was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had , Jameson was the funniest instructor ever and made me feel comfortable from the second we got there , which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. The instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow too ! i had never surfed a day in my life, but by the end of the session I had ridden multiple waves and felt way more confident than I ever expected. 10,000/10 experience, I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone.

Great experience and highly recommend! We appreciated the option to do a private lesson with an instructor and our group of 2. As first-timers we were anxious but James made us feel at ease and like we were more than capable. Turns out we were! The lesson equips you with everything you need to know and you get out to the water quick! When one of us had issues paddling out into the waves our instructor helped us get back out to enjoy it. We did this at the beginning of our trip and this allowed us to feel confident to go surfing on our own later on in the trip. Everything you need is provided! I will note that any modifications needed you must give 48 hour notice or else you cannot receive a refund.
