Steak Shack

We arrived about ten minutes before they stopped taking orders and I think we ended up waiting about 35-40 minutes until we got our order... however it was so worth it. This place is just an absolute must if you're in Waikiki. The crowd is a testament to how good the food is. Get both the chicken and the steak and share it.

Steak Shack is definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waikiki. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the steak was cooked well. The steak and salad combo was a great lighter option while still being filling. The biggest thing to know is that this place is popular, so plan ahead and expect a line, especially around dinner time. The wait moved fairly quickly, and the food was worth it. Great casual spot for a tasty meal just steps from the beach. Would definitely come back.

Four stars only because of the constant upcharges — not because of the food or service. The steak was cooked a perfect medium: tender, juicy and full of flavor. The rice was absolute perfection and the salad was fresh and crisp. Service was friendly and fast, especially considering how busy Waikīkī Beach gets. The only downside for me was feeling a little nickel-and-dimed. Extra for sauce, extra for dressing and even extra for a takeout bag. I get that costs are high in Hawaiʻi, but when most people are grabbing Steak Shack specifically to take down to the beach, charging for a bag feels a little excessive. Other than that, zero complaints. I’ll absolutely be back whenever I want an easy, satisfying beachside meal in Waikīkī.

Was flying home from a day trip to Oahu while staying at the Outrigger Reef Waikīkī and went looking for a quick breakfast. Since it was so close to the beach my friend and I were checking out, I got the kalbi plate. I can’t remember if it was the full size or if they were offering a smaller one but regardless it did have a premium price compared to the steak options. I was curious to see how well their kalbi came out. Ordered it with an over easy egg. Didn’t take too long for it to be ready since I was the only one in line at the time. Kalbi was cooked nicely with a bit of char. Seasoned well though admittedly just a little bit on the salty side. Overall it was a good plate and I’d order again if I was nearby.

Great plate lunch for the proce! both the steak and chicken were great. will have to come back fri/sat/sun for the wagyu and poke bowls. You can walk right up from the beach and theres plenty of tables along the side to eat
