The Hale Koa is a beautiful resort. If you have a chance, this is a great place to vacation. The staff are amazing, kind, and helpful. We went to the Luau and had the best time. It is in the heart of Waikiki and most things are within walking distance.

Great place for veteran families. Nice to have a PX right there with affordable shopping. The Hawaiian people are so gracious and kind. The workers are so helpful and friendly...and honest, as I forgot my makeup/skin care bag and they turned it in to lost and found. I sent them a prepaid shipping lable and they sent it back. :) Thank you Hale Koa for a memorable stay with pur granddaughter! ♥️
The Hale Koa never disappoints! It's a wonderful resort for military members & their families on stunning grounds with beautiful landscaping. The restaurants on the property have good food at reasonable prices. My husband and I stay at the Hale Koa Resort every time we're on Oahu and will be back again in the near future!
-Really clean. Even in the corners of the bathroom. -Food options are okay/good. I didn’t try Bibas during lunch time and the menu looks better but other people in our group do and liked it. -Luau was a lot of fun with plenty of delicious food. They had a lot of activities to do if you came early and the show after dinner was amazing. -Massages at the spa were some of the best we’ve ever had. Our masseuse told us he used to work on sumo wrestlers and I believe it. -Magic show: we hadn’t planned on this but our kid won the rubber ducky race so we got free tickets. Really glad cause it was a great experience and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Cons: -don’t get coffee from the shops within a half hour before they close. Otherwise it’s great -Pools: Even in lifeguard areas, you have to be IN the water with your kid. (But apparently they don’t have a rule of how far from them you have to be which is really inconsistent with any reasoning you wanna follow) Lifeguards seem to just be for rule enforcement. They kind of just sit there and don’t do any roaming but they do make all kids get out of the pool for 15min at the beginning of EVERY hour. Overall we had a great time and I would return if we come back to Oahu.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Hale Koa, the room was perfect for what we needed and we couldn’t beat our ocean view. We had prime viewing for Friday night fireworks! We loved how beautiful the grounds were kept and how friendly the staff we did encounter were as well. Our family enjoyed the pool and barefoot bar in the evenings. The bartenders are strict but super friendly and made delicious drinks. The bar by the pool was fast and friendly as well and the drinks were beautiful and fun for the kids too. Having the BX onsite was such a lifesaver. We would have absolutely loved having a refrigerator or microwave, nevertheless a cooler bought at the BX was our friend for a week. Food options onsite aren’t horrible, nor the best, but totally convenient and specials daily are great after a long day outside having fun. If you aren’t part of the Hale Koa facebook groups definitely join them for helpful tips, freebies and other good info! The Hale Koa is completely walkable and in a great spot thats near everything. Mahalo for the lovely stay and memories that will last our family a lifetime, see ya soon!
